Parents should try and avoid arranging play dates for groups of young children at this early stage of the outbreak.
However, rather than staying indoors, consider outdoor activities such as playing football in the open in small groups of 3 or 4 while maintaining physical distancing of 2 meters.
Continue to spend time outdoors. The fresh air is good for kids, and for you as parents. But please do this as a family rather than meeting up in groups.
While some playgrounds may be closed, those that are open may still be visited - but it is important to stress that appropriate physical distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette measures need to be maintained in all situations.

Due to recent announcements by the Government we will be taking further measures to minimise the risk to you and our vulnerable and elderly customers. We have made the difficult decision to cancel all but emergency repairs and annual safety checks from now until further notice.
If you are unwell and one of our operatives is due to visits your home, please let us know by calling 0800 1835757 and we will work to deliver your service in an alternative way.
23 March 2020 - ‘Stay Home – Save Lives’.
New Restrictions announced by the Government to be in place for at least 3 weeks. Leave home only for:
- Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible
- One form of exercise a day – for example a run, walk or cycle - alone or with members of your household
- Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
- Travelling to work, only if absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home
Information for residents
- Existing claimants of Universal Credit do not have to go into the Job Centre for ANY appointments. Any questions ask through your online journal. Only contact the Service centre if your enquiry is urgent.

- Cases of mortgage repayment holidays are being taken on a case-by-case basis, and the length of any suspension can vary between banks.
- Other support for individuals facing financial difficulties owing to the virus include:
- Refunds on credit card cash advance fees
- The option of applying for a temporarily increased credit card borrowing limit
- Asking for an increased cash withdrawal limit of up to £500
- All the above measures are similar to those already in place for people facing financial difficulties.

As the recent developments around Coronavirus begin to impact our communities and daily lives, our values of hope, trust and kindness have never felt more important for us to live by, and they are central to the plans that we are developing to support staff and residents through the pandemic.
Understandably, there is a lot of concern and anxiety regarding the outbreak, so we want to provide some information to you.
Our Senior Managers from across ClwydAlyn are meeting regularly to put as many measures in place as we can, to protect residents and staff, and to make sure we can continue to deliver critical services to you. Our staff are aware of, and are following Public Health advice.
Before we complete any work/visits to your home, we are also asking you to follow the latest government guidelines and please notify us if you, or anyone in your household has either been diagnosed with Coronavirus, is self-isolating, or has a new cough or high temperature.
If you are self-isolating and need any support, then please let us know so we can offer you help.
Our neighbourhoods and communities can be a great source of support at times like this. Showing kindness to neighbours and helping others if you can, is really important.
ClwydAlyn will now be delivering an emergency repair service only. When everything returns to normal, we will reintroduce the repairs service you are used to.
We would ask all residents to continue to report repairs and we will categorise the repair and tell you if it is an emergency or not. For non-emergency repairs we will record the repair and carry it out in the future.
Paying your rent:
We understand that your finances may be impacted at this time if you can’t work. Whilst your rent is a priority payment, we can offer you support and help if you are affected by any change in your circumstances. It’s important that you let us know straight away as any delay could result in you missing out on any benefits or financial support you may be entitled to.
If you are already receiving any welfare benefits, state pension or pension credits, you will continue to receive your current payments as normal.

7 days: For those with symptoms of a high temperature and continuous cough.

For the immediate future, due to the Coronavirus, we'll be closing our cafes to the public in our Extra Care Schemes.
- The scrapping of the free TV licence for those aged 75 or over has been delayed until 1st of August 2020.
- Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) for those eligible can now be claimed from day 1 of your absence if you are unable to work because you are self-isolating in line with government advice, or if you are infected with Covid-19. This applies retrospectively from 13 March 2020. Speak to your employer regarding your eligibility for this benefit.
- For those who are not eligible for sick pay or SSP, you can apply for Universal Credit and the new-style Employment Support Allowance via https://www.gov.uk/apply-universal-credit and https://www.gov.uk/how-to-claim-new-style-esa
- If you are on a low income, you may be eligible for council tax reduction. Please contact your local authority for more information.
- Any face to face assessment for all sickness and disability benefits has been suspended for the next 3 months as of 17/03/2020. If you already have an assessment appointment arranged, you do not need to attend. The assessment provider will contact you to discuss your appointment and explain the next steps to you.
- If you need to provide evidence to your employer that you are self-isolating due to coronavirus, you will soon be able to get it from NHS 111 Online instead of having to get a Fit Note from your doctor. This will be available soon.
